Why is the tarpon called the Silver King?
Megalops atlanticus is the Atlantic tarpon — a 100+ lb prehistoric gamefish that grabs flies and jumps four feet out of the water. The chrome scales gave it the 'Silver King' nickname, common usage in the Keys flats-fishing community.
